Every transaction Foreqast imports is sorted into one canonical category. Categories are the rows of the Foreqast table and the unit every forecast is built on — switching your industry view only re-labels and re-groups them, it never changes a total.
Below is the full default set, grouped by where it appears in the table. Open any category for what lands there and how it's forecast.
Revenue
•Revenue — All the money your business earns from selling products or services.
Cost of Goods Sold
•Inventory & Restocking — What it costs to buy or make the goods you sell — your cost of goods.
Operating Expenses
•Team & Payroll — Salaries, wages, and the cost of employing your team.
•Software & Subscriptions — SaaS tools and recurring software your business runs on.
•Hosting & API — Cloud infrastructure, hosting, and metered API usage.
•Office & Rent — Rent, coworking, and the cost of your workspace.
•Insurance — Business insurance premiums.
•Leasing — Leased equipment and vehicles.
•Advertising — Paid marketing and ad spend across channels.
•Payments & Processing — Payment provider and bank transaction fees.
•Professional Services — Accountants, lawyers, and outside advisors.
•Freelancers & Subcontractors — Contract talent and outsourced delivery work.
