What syncs
Exactly what Foreqast reads from Shopify
Every sync is read-only — Foreqast pulls the data below and never writes anything back to your store.
| Data field | Direction | Frequency | History imported |
|---|---|---|---|
| Orders & order volume | Read-only | Daily + on change | Up to 24 months |
| Net revenue | Read-only | Daily | Up to 24 months |
| Refunds & returns | Read-only | Daily | Up to 24 months |
| Discounts | Read-only | Daily | Up to 24 months |
| Shipping charged | Read-only | Daily | Up to 24 months |
| Product cost (COGS) | Read-only | On change | Current |
| SKU / product level | Read-only | Daily | Up to 24 months |
| Customers (new & returning) | Read-only | Daily | Up to 24 months |
How the data lands in your model
Shopify fields become drivers you can flex
This is what separates Foreqast from “we have a Shopify integration too”: your shop data doesn't just show up in a chart, it maps onto the drivers of your forecast — so you can change any of them and watch revenue, margin and cash respond.
Shopify order volume becomes a revenue driver you can flex to model a busier month.
Raise or lower AOV to test pricing and bundling against revenue.
Your real refund rate nets down revenue automatically.
Per-unit cost drives your COGS and your restock forecast.

Start from Foreqast and pick your store. No API keys to copy, no code.
2.Approve read-only access
Shopify asks you to grant read access to orders, products and customers. That's it.
3.Foreqast imports & forecasts
Your history loads, drivers populate and your forecast generates itself.

Security & permissions
Read-only, scoped, and yours to revoke
Read-only, always
Foreqast only ever reads. It never creates, edits or deletes anything in your system.
Minimal scopes
Access is limited to the scopes it needs — orders, products and customers — and nothing more.
Yours to revoke
Disconnect it in settings and access ends immediately — and you can delete what was imported.
“We stopped guessing what a restock would do to the account. It's on the same screen as the order data now.”

FAQ
Shopify questions, answered
Does it write anything to my store?
No. The connection is read-only in both directions of the word: Foreqast reads orders, products and customers, and has no permission to change anything.
How much history does it import?
Up to 24 months where your store has it. That is enough to see seasonality rather than only a trend.
What if my product costs aren't in Shopify?
Then the purchase cost driver starts from your accounting instead, and you can override it per product. Costs you maintain by hand always take precedence over a synced value.
Do I need a developer?
No. You approve the connection from inside Foreqast and the import runs itself.
