Sell advice, not bookkeeping
Your clients already pay you for the most accurate picture of their business. Foreqast points it forwards, so the conversation moves from what a month cost to what the next twelve will.
Why this page exists
Bookkeeping is being automated. The advice on top of it is not.
Every year, more of the mechanical work leaves the practice: receipts that categorise themselves, statements that reconcile without a human, filings that generate from the ledger. That is not a threat to a firm that can price advice, but it is one to a firm that only prices hours.
The material for that advice is already in your hands. What is missing is a way to show a client what their own numbers imply about next spring — without building a model per client in Excel and maintaining it for free.
Foreqast takes the Buchungsstapel you already produce and builds the forward side automatically: fixed costs with their terms, VAT and taxes on their dates, revenue driven by whatever the client's business actually runs on.
The client sees a forecast in their own login. You see the same numbers, and you have something to charge for that no automation is coming for.
What you get
A billable service, not another tool licence
The partner plan is built around a firm running many client accounts, not one company running one.
Every client in one account
Ten client entities and up under a single login, each with its own data, users and forecast. Switching client is one click, not one logout.
Built from the data you already export
A DATEV Buchungsstapel is the whole setup. SKR03 and SKR04, BU keys resolved to VAT rates, Kost1 and Kost2 preserved as cost centres.
A forecast you can present
Cash, profit and runway on one timeline, plus bank- and investor-ready reports you can put in front of a client or their lender.
Onboarding for your team
A working session for the people who will run it, and the material to explain the offer to clients in their own words.
A named contact
A partner manager rather than a support queue, for the questions a firm has and a single company never does.
Data that stays yours
EU hosting, and a client's data belongs to that client's account. Ending the partnership does not take their forecast away from them.
How it runs
What a mandate looks like in practice
Four steps, and none of them ask you to change how you do the bookkeeping.
- 1
Pick the clients worth starting with
Usually the ones already asking cash questions between annual accounts. Five is enough to see whether the offer lands.
- 2
Import their bookings
The export you already produce. The past side of the forecast builds itself from it, categorised as your chart of accounts has it.
- 3
Set the drivers once
What moves the client's revenue — orders, subscriptions, booked hours — becomes an input rather than an assumption. This is the part that makes it advice.
- 4
Turn it into a recurring conversation
A monthly or quarterly review on live numbers, billed as advisory. The forecast stays current between them without anyone maintaining it.

When this partnership is a bad idea
A partner page that only argues one way wastes your time and ours. These are the cases where we would tell you not to bother.
- Your clients are mostly very small and file once a year — there is nothing to plan between annual accounts, and the forecast will be a nice chart nobody opens.
- You are looking for a white-label product to put your own logo on. Foreqast is not white-labelled today, and pretending otherwise would waste a quarter of your time.
- You want a tool your team runs without the client seeing it. This works because the client logs in and reads their own numbers; a hidden model is just Excel with extra steps.
- You need consolidated group reporting across many entities at once — that is enterprise FP&A territory, and other vendors are built for it.
FAQ
Questions firms ask
Do we have to change how we do the bookkeeping?
No. The forecast is built from the Buchungsstapel export as it already is. Nothing about your posting practice has to change for this to work.
Who owns the client relationship?
You do. We do not market to your clients, and a client account created under your partnership stays theirs if the partnership ends.
Is there a direct DATEV connection?
Not today — it runs on the export, which needs no setup on either side. A direct connection is on the roadmap.
What do we actually bill for?
The advice, not the software. Most firms price it as a recurring review — monthly or quarterly — and the plan cost sits underneath that.
How long does the first client take?
About an afternoon, including setting the drivers. The second one is faster, because the pattern repeats across similar clients.
